Asylum (Pseuwisdom 2 : 1-11)
09 July 2007
1 There's a story by Kahlil Gibran when he meet a man in the asylum and asked what the man is doing here. He asked that because the man seems well educated and behaved nicely. Here's the answers.
2 My Father wants me to be a lawyer like him.
3 My Uncle hopes I follow his examples by having a large emporium.
4 My Mother want to carve me so I would look like her father.
5 My Sister want her husband to set an good example before me.
6 My Brother tried to train me to become a soldier like him.
7 Same thing in school, with all the teachers acted like they are the best example in the world
8 Nobody sees me as I am, a man. Everybody sees me as a reflection of themselves.
9 Here, in the asylum, I could be myself.
10 Sometimes we are what people think we are. If we behave differently that they predicted, they will think that we disregard their rules. Or maybe better, they think that we are crazy.
11 So asked yourself everyday. Is this really Me? Is this really what I want?
