Ennui (pseuwisdom 4:1-10)

The most tempting situation that man ever face is when he is in the state of ennui.

It's when he doesn't even progress in anything that he do, or even worse he goes backward on progress.

That's what happened to me this several weeks, just drifting away from my goal, my progress and my work.

Why I even do that? I don't know. Maybe because there's several simple pleasure in my life right now that I won't sacrifice for my goal.

Results? My focus is disoriented. My weight is gaining. And my work is abysmal. But I'm somewhat happy because of my simple things.

I'm wondering how to bounce back again toward my goal again and I read this from lifehack.

Several point that I like from this post is especially that taught me that I should take time out to refocus and find a way to renew a sense of purpose.

"Think about what used to bring you energy and pleasure. What happened to it? How can you bring it back? Many people lose focus on what truly matters to them, because they’re wrapped up in what seems more pressing—like working to get ahead."

"Actions — however successful — that feel meaningless will never be satisfying. It’s most likely that your sense of continual boredom and emptiness comes from suspecting that nothing you do has much real value in the long-term."

I feel better already after I finished this post. Anyone that have experienced this ennui and want to share their tips as well?
