The Broken Fence (Pseuwisdom 1:1-7)
30 June 2007
1 One day, a sheep found a hole in the fence and crept throughout that hole. Soon, she’s surrounded by wolves and totally frightened. But, the shepherd found her just in time and return her to her home.
2 It’s a usual story, right? You’ve heard it many times before. But, what i like the most is the last sentence that follows that passage.
3 And eventhough, the villagers persuaded the shepherd to fix the fence, the shepherd ignored them.
4 I always keep this story close to my heart, every time i see through a fence. Yes, the world offers a lot of things to satisfy your pleasure. And Yes sometimes you pushed your way through the hole in the fence just to see what’s out there. But, eventually in the end, The Good Shepherd always carried us back to the safe haven.
5 The fence is still there. He doesn’t want to fix the hole. Does he let the sheep gone astray? No, he just simply giving them a choice. Stay here and be saved or ELSE.
6 Even when we choose “else”, He still looking for us. He leaves the other sheeps to find us and bring us back.
7 Now, say it together with me. Isn’t God great?
